Qualify is gradually evolving from a health and safety learning platform to a comprehensive health and safety management platform. As part of this transition, new features are being introduced, such as a form library, form builder, and new monthly subscription options for Worksite Safety’s clients.

Project Overview and Highlights

How can we integrate subscriptions?

  • This project focuses on the new subscription services Worksite Safety is offering to its clients. It aims to promote subscriptions within the application, allowing clients to subscribe to multiple packages to meet all their safety needs. Key goals include transparency about the pricing structure and monthly billing cycles, making it easy to manage subscriptions and update the number of monthly users, and gradually increasing feature discoverability and adoption rates.

Promote and avoid disruption

  • Banner’s can promote new products and features without disrupting the users workflow. The user can choose to click on the banner’s CTA in their own time, or choose to close the banner.

Plans and pricing

  • Clients can select to view subscription costs in a monthly or yearly view; using button selectors at the top of the page. Number of users per month can be inputed using the slider or the number input field, this updates the estimated monthly cost. The more users selected the cheaper the monthly cost per user.

Multiple selection and transparency

  • Clients can select all three plans if they wish, and they can adjust pricing (users per month) as desired on each subscription. When “add plan” is selected, it is added to their review cart, and includes the number of users selected (if any) with the slider or number input fields on each subscription. They can choose to edit the users here, or in the next step (checkout and payment).

Review charges and view billing

  • Clients can view the plans they have added, make any final changes to the quantity of users per month, view quantity discounts, view their monthly total, and see their billing date.

Subscription Management

  • Clients can manage their subscriptions here, this includes payments, invoices, adding or canceling plans, and changing the quantity of users per month. They can navigate to Management > Subscriptions > Manage/Assign to add people within their organization to each subscription.

Adding to the design system

"New" visual identity

  • For this new feature of Qualify, we needed a visual element that said ‘hey, look! I am a new feature!’, while still being cohesive with the current design system. To address this, I took a look at our current call out style, Worksite Gradient.

Merging new and old

  • I wanted something darker for the new feature call out style, something that stands out against the current bright gradient. The darkest colour in the palette looked to flat, so I added a slight depth with a gradient to black. Worksite’s main red, along with the bright gradient works well in tandem with the new dark gradient.

Takeaways

Main goals were achieved

The choices we made throughout this design process helped us achieve our main goals; promoting our new service, being transparent about our pricing structure, and slowly increasing our daily subscriber numbers.

Current performance and future growth

Since the implementation of the subscription services, Worksite has seen 3-5 new subscriptions per day. After the implementation of additional EHS features, they hope to increase this number to 40 – 50 subscriptions per day.
